Ni-Hard Ni-Hard is the generic name for a family of white cast irons alloyed with nickel and chromium to give high hardness and outstanding resistance to abrasion.

There are two distinct groups of Ni-Hard compositions: • the medium alloyed Ni-Hard 1 and Ni-Hard 2 with, nominally, % (resp %) C, 4% Ni, 2% Cr • Ni-Hard 4 with. Ni Hard is generic name for a family of white cast iron alloyed with nickel and chromium to give outstanding resistance to abrasion and high hardness.

There are two distinc group of Ni Hard composition, first one is medium alloyed nickel Ni hard 1 and Ni hard 2,while the second is Ni Hard 4.

Ni-Hard 4 is a Nickel-Chromium white cast iron. which provides consistent wear life in a variety of applications including slurry pumps, mill liners, pipe fittings, wear backs, log teeth, pulverizer parts and other wear resistant castings.

Over fifty years of use in industrial applications has proven this alloy to be. Ni-Hard is a white cast iron, alloyed with nickel and chromium suitable for low impact, sliding abrasion for both wet and dry applications. Ni-Hard is an extremely wear resistant material, cast in forms and shapes which are ideal for use in abrasive and wear environments and applications.

Ni-Hard castings are produced with a wear resistant minimum of brinell hardness, hard white cast iron containing 4% Ni.

The Ni-Resist cast irons are a family of alloys with sufficient nickel to produce an austenitic structure which has unique and superior properties. The family is divided into two groups. These are the standard or flake graphite alloys and the ductile or spheroidal graphite alloys.

Except for the copper containing ones, the groups have. This makes Ni-Hard 4 ideal for applications in dredge pumps where stones and other hard solid objects can be sucked into the pump. The presence of chrome and nickel makes Ni-Hard 4 more resistant to corrosion than cast iron.

Ni-Hard4 consists of chromium-iron carbides, retained in a. High-nickel cast irons are widely used and are generally known as Ni-Resist cast irons. Austenitic gray cast irons containing 14% to 30% nic kel are resistant to mildly oxidizing acids, including sulphuric acid at room-temperature. High-nickel cast iron is most resistant to alkalis than unalloyed cast.

Ni Hard is the trade name for a group of nickel chromium alloyed white cast irons possessing outstanding resistance to abrasion. Ni Hard types 1 and 2 have proved an economic replacement for white cast iron under most conditions of wear-resisting service and for carbon and 12% manganese steels for wear resistance under conditions of moderate impact.

Ni-hard cast iron mainly have two kinds: one is containing 4% nickel, 2% chromium. This Ni-hard cast iron microstructure by M3C carbides and martensite and austenite mixed matrix. Another is containing 6% nickel, and containing about 9% of chromium. This Ni-hard cast iron carbides of M7C3.

Nickel-Chrome-High Carbon Alloy. This material may also be called Ni-Hard 1. Ni-Hard 1 is an abrasion resistant material used in applications where impact is also a concern as the wear mechanism. Ni-Hard 1 should also be considered if there are low or medium dynamic stresses.

The as-cast hardness is typically BHN depending on the section thickness of the casting. 12 Chapter 11 Types of Cast Iron Gray iron – 1 - 3 % Si, – 4% C – graphite flakes plus ferrite/pearlite – brittleness due to the flake-like graphite • weak & brittle under tension • stronger under compression • excellent vibrational dampening • wear resistant Ductile (nodular) iron – a small amount ( wt%) of Mg or Ce – spheroidal graphite precipitates (nodules)File Size: 2MB.

We offer excellent quality range of Ni-Hard cast iron. There are two groups of Ni-Hard cast irons: the medium alloyed Ni-Hard 1 and Ni-Hard 2 (% Carbon, 4% Nickel, 2% Chromium, Ni-Hard 4 (3% Carbon, 9% Chromium, 5% Nickel and 2% Silicon).

Its microstructure consists of carbides and mainly martensitic matrix. Material: Ni-Hard. Ni-Hard is a white cast iron, alloyed with nickel and chromium suitable for low impact, sliding abrasion for both wet and dry applications. Ni-Hard is an extremely wear resistant material, cast in forms and shapes which.

Because of the nickel content, austenitic cast iron is more expensive than grey or ductile cast iron but is usually cheaper than an equivalent alloyed steel, particularly if the cost of machining the casting is taken into account.

It is far easier to machine than a nickel chrome steel. Ramesh Singh, in Applied Welding Engineering (Second Edition), White Cast Iron.

White cast iron is formed when on solidification, carbon in solution is not able to form graphite White cast irons are hard and brittle; they cannot easily be machined. White cast iron is unique in that it is the only member of the cast iron family in which carbon is present only as carbide.

such as high chromium cast iron and Ni-hard cast iron, which would consume a large amount of ex-pensive alloying elements. In addition, high chro-mium white cast iron and Ni-hard cast iron are still a kind of brittle material, this fact restricts their ap-plication under serious work conditions.

The alloy constituents affect its colour when fractured: white cast iron has carbide impurities which allow cracks to pass straight through, grey cast iron has graphite flakes which deflect a passing crack and initiate countless new cracks as the.NiHard castings, also written as Ni-Hard castings, are extremely wear resistant castings ideal for abrasive resistant products and components.

NiHard cast components can extend the life of parts and products, providing longer use, when compared with other cast iron techniques.
